Lip filler myths buster…
Natural looking results is something we strive for at Update Aesthetics and I train all my Nurse’s to uphold the brand standard that we are renowned for.
However the “Trout Pout’ is still something that is associated with filler treatments and feared as an unnatural, obvious looking outcome.
So what is the best thing to do when looking to enhance your lips?
These steps are what the experts will always suggest for any filler patient.
Slowly wins the race! Any filler treatment is a buildable process, the best way to achieve great results is by injecting a little bit over a series of multiple treatments.
Always make sure the filler is a hyaluronic acid filler and of good quality, not only are these most likely to give beautiful results, if for any reason you change your mind, they can be safely dissolved.
Be clear on your goals. Your practitioner wants to work with you to help you achieve your desired results, but as a professional they are also there to manage your expectations.
How long until you see lip filler results?
The good thing about lip fillers is that you can see a positive result immediately post procedure but true results will not be apparent until around 2 weeks post treatment once the swelling has subsided and the product has begun to integrate into the lips.
Building up your filler is the best option over time as this minimises the risk of migration, over filling and can also help minimise trauma to the tissue. You should always expect to experience some swelling immediately post procedure and for the next 24hours you may find your lips appear puffy however, this will settle and will not be the final result or volume.
Sometimes, ‘1ml of filler’ scares people. They may have an amount in mind that they think is going to give them their desired effect, it is the practitioners job to help guide them into understanding that each individual patient will need a bespoke treatment. A certain amount in 1 person may not be appropriate to achieve the desired result in another.
That is why it is so important to go into your consultation with an open mind, your injector will have the knowledge and experience, you should always go to someone you can put your trust in.
If you are ready to explore how lip enhancement could be the treatment for you, book in with one of our experienced nurses and receive your bespoke consultation and treatment plan in our Truro or London clinic.
