The Power of the Profile
Many people who are unhappy with their profile come in wanting their jaw area addressed, but usually would always need the mid face treating first.
As we age, one of the initial areas to lose volume are the weeks which lose fat and collagen giving way to a flatter and more sunken appearance. By adding filler to the mid face this helps lift the lower face too and starts to rebalance the face over a series of treatments, I will always work with you on a treatment plan to ensure you know what to expect and what is possible in one sitting, you will nearly always need more than one treatment in more than one area to rebalance and structure the face.
Because the mid face is not an area we move excessively - such as the lips - filler placed here has more longevity and can last anywhere between 12 and 24 months, so although this can be a more expensive treatment, the upkeep is far less.
Balancing a profile always requires a full face approach, analysing areas that you wouldn’t necessarily consider having treated yourself, one of the most over looked areas is the chin. By adding a stronger projection to the chin, it can draw out the jaw line and create a better flow of the profile.
Facial contouring is not only beneficial for aging faces but also to add more structure - which can lift contour and actually slim the face, it is a common misconception that adding filler to the face will make it appear rounder or ‘fatter’ when in reality wen placed properly will have the opposite effect.
Respecting the integrity of the face is critical for producing natural aesthetic results that allow you to feel more comfortable in your own skin.
One thing I always tell my clients is that when people ask for filler, it is not a case of one size fits all, so please don’t come with an amount in mind. This imagery is very helpful at showing how much 1ml actually is, around 1/5 of a teaspoon!
